Bespoke Post Review

As a member of the Bespoke Post, you have the option to receive a box once a month filled with tools, products, and clothes that chances are you’ve yet to be introduced to. It’s free to sign up, and each box only costs $45 for members, while being filled with at least $70 worth of goods.

I was sent two boxes to check out — one called Refresh, and another called Copper. The title of each box serves as a theme for what’s inside.

With the Refresh Box, I was treated to a new Dopp kit (something all guys need), and a plethora of grooming supplies from brands that were new to me. There was also a packet of Drinkwel multivitamins included in the pack, which is meant to help with hangovers. While I’m skeptical of most hangover remedies that don’t involve eggs and bacon, I’m sure I will get the chance to put Drinkwel to the test in the near future.

The Copper box contained everything your home bar needs to start making a mean Moscow Mule (besides the liquor). The centerpiece of the box was two copper mugs, the traditional cups for this specific drink. Also included were Liber & Co’s Fiery Ginger Syrup and an ice mallet.

These two boxes show off a great range of what Bespoke Post can introduce to its members. They both address a different aspect of your life and give you a few new tools to try out and see if you might want to make permanent additions. After a few months of boxes from Bespoke Post, you could refresh your bathroom, home bar, bedroom, and more, all at a great value.

One other thing that should be noted is the ease of becoming and maintaining membership. On the first of each month, members are sent an email with the new boxes and one assigned to you based on your preferences. Members then have five days to decide if they’d like to swap out their box for another, skip a month, or trust the process. In my view, this is one of the best perks of Bespoke Post — if you’re tight on money for a month, or simply aren’t interested in a particular month, it’s easy to opt-out whenever you want. That said, chances are most months you’ll find a box that speaks to you.

We’ve reviewed over 100 different Bespoke Post boxes over the years! Bespoke Post ($45/month) is a high-quality men’s subscription box service that gives you a “mini lifestyle upgrade” in each box. Each month they curate several new boxes around a theme, and you can select which one you want from new or past boxes– or skip that month. It’s one of our favorite men’s subscriptions and one we gift regularly to others!

We ordered three boxes from Bespoke Post, each of which we felt hit a different but essential aspect of lifestyle: grooming, fashion, and appreciation of fine EDC. Respectively called Stealth, Lather, and Polished, we also felt like ordering a varied crop of goods would be a fair way to determine the overall care put into each box.

When the boxes arrived in-office, they were easily identifiable by their branded Bespoke Postboxes, which are obviously designed to travel distances by mail — they are double-walled, sturdy and, even with a few bumps on the outside, clearly undamaged. Inside, the goods are in even better condition, nestled between sheets of the protective paper and nicely presented. So what are these boxes really about?

Bespoke Post Boxes

A New York-based subscription service, Bespoke Post is one of the few reasons we find ourselves getting excited about receiving mail again. Bent on improving the way you live your life, they strive to assemble theme-oriented boxes of goodies that will impress even the toughest critics of online shopping — and consistently succeed.

Every month, they release one or more new boxes, each of which contains quality products the Bespoke Post team has sourced from wherever quality demands. (Often, this means locally in the USA, but they also have partners in Europe where certain items are unmatched.) Themes range from cigars and leather carryalls to fine barware and BBQs. With an emphasis on storytelling, selected products are put together cohesively and sent straight to your door, eliminating all unnecessary middlemen. Streamlining the delivery also means the actual cost of the box is less too. While the average value of boxes hits above the $70 mark, Bespoke Post manages to keep their service affordable — members pay a modest $45 per box (shipping and handling included). Non-members pay $55, but unless you enjoy paying more for some reason, you may as well sign-up since it’s free.

Once you’re a member, you can always see what’s coming up and choose which box you want to be delivered. On the off-chance that you’re not interested in what’s on offer, you can skip a month (or as many as you’d like) and jump in again whenever you want. When you’ve decided you’re out for good, it’s as simple as leaving the Club — no commitment, no fuss.

With everything to gain, and really not much to lose, this is a no-BS service that we’d recommend to all our friends, neighbors and second cousins twice removed.

How To Cancel Bespoke Post

The first of the boxes we checked out was Stealth. While many of Bespoke Post’s boxes aim to give a guy something that he needs, Stealth is more about just getting some really cool stuff, albeit in a rather covert way. This box is just simply a good time. Opening it is like getting a Christmas stocking from your best buddy — that one person that knows your likes and dislikes to a T. The first thing we opened was a high-quality pocket knife made by Bear & Son Cutlery. Let’s face it, anyone trying to be stealth needs a good pocket knife, whether you need to open a package, slice up fruit, or cut the zip ties off your wrists when you are being held hostage by villains. The box also contained a stainless steel watertight key safe. Made by The Tin Mill,  this stainless steel gadget will keep your cash and other valuables safe from exposure to the elements. The third item was a Jac Zagoory Designs 7-in-1 Tool pen. You might not look like Daniel Craig’s James Bond, but you just might feel like him when you have this pen in hand. It has a Philips’s head and a flat screwdriver, a spirit level, inch, and centimeter rulers, a touchscreen stylus, oh and you can write with it too (it is a pen first and foremost after all). The final item was a sleek money clip. Made in America and composed of stainless steel, its durable structure ensures your cards and cash can stay safe and protected no matter what the day throws at you. Overall the Stealth box’s product selection didn’t showcase the best of what Bespoke Post has to offer, but its uniqueness more than makes up for it.

Next up: Polished. As any man knows, the key to the killer style lies in your shoes. When someone checks you out, whether it is a prospective date or a possible future employer, all It takes is a quick glance at your footwear to know whether you are in the game or just a pretender. It isn’t just about buying the right kind of shoe, it is about taking good care of them once you do. This box includes everything you need to keep your shoes looking on point. It includes two applicator brushes, a suede brush, two buffing brushes, and a chamois cloth, all of which are high-quality pieces. This box also comes with two different polishing creams, leather wax, and a shoe moisturizer to keep your shoes looking fresh and clean. All of these products have an unmistakable look and feel of really strong products. A Polished box is an excellent option for both shoe care veterans, who need to replace or upgrade their shoe polish kit, and rookies, who need to learn the art of a polishing a shoe.

The third and final box we reviewed was Lather, which is a shaving kit that manages to be both classy and old-school at the same time. For many guys shaving involves going to a drug store, buying the cheapest razor available and scraping their face raw. Please, don’t be that guy. With this box, your face will not only thank you, but you will look better and start the day off with a ritual that offers that hint of sophistication you need to start the day off right. The box features everything you need to elevate your shaving experience including a high-quality pre-shave oil, shaving soap, a classy New York Shaving Company pure badger shaving brush — with an understated horn resin handle, a chrome shaving stand, and last but not least a sleek, minimalist concrete shaving bowl — made by artisans in Maine. If using these shaving tools and accessories isn’t a life-changing experience, then you have lived a better life than most. We loved this box. Not only for a touch of class it brings to the average morning routine, but the items truly provide a much better shave. Once you experience shaving in this manner, it might be hard to go back to your Neanderthal ways.
